Panorama Partying

While partyers raged downstairs to some loud tunes (including a live German band for a bit) others made their way into an upstairs section inside the Palast for a little more intimate chit-chat. iW and NewFest

NewFest and indieWIRE hosted a small party at our friend Patrick Schomburg's fab apartment in Mitte Tuesday evening (thanks Patrick). Among the attendees were iW editor-in-chief, Eugene Hernandez and director Jennie Livingston ("Paris is Burning") who is in town with her latest film, "Who's the Top?" Winners!

The Panorama party attracted a ton of volke out to see the section winners Tuesday night, and to party down until the wee hours (which many did) in the Berlinale Palast in Potsdamer Platz. Filmmaker Taika Waititi (sporting the Rolling Stone shirt) poses with juror Marten Rabarts on stage following the announcement. Photo by Brian Brooks/indieWIRE

E-Pop!

"I want to be in 'e-POP,'" said Oliver Mahrdt from German Cinema -- and voila, here it is... Mahrdt joined publicist Stephen Lan and the Atlantic Film Festival director Lia Rinaldo and programmer Andrew Murphy at the party for Canadian film, which took place at a swank restaurant near Alexander Platz in east Berlin.

Teen Stars Canada

We've come to the conclusion at indieWIRE that the Canadians really know how to throw a good party. It was one of our favorites at both Sundance and Berlin (although we're not as popular as far as party invites go in Berlin). Also enjoying the fun at the Canadian party were two of the country's fledgling actors, Ellen Page ("Hard Candy") and Mark Rendall ("Childstar").

Keee-AHHH-nooo!

With chants of "Keee-AHHH-nooo, Keee-AHHH-nooo" a mob tried to snap shots of Keanu Reeves with their digital cameras and cell phones, as paparazzi snapped away feverishly, a few minutes ago outside the Berlinale Palast. Keanu was arriving for the afternoon competition screening of Mike Mills' "Thumbsucker."
